Phoebe Garnet

On October 2, 2019, we helped our "little pretty", Phoebe Garnet, cross the Rainbow Bridge. She turned 13 in August. We adopted her 6 years ago from NEADY Cats, where she'd been taken in as a shy kitten. Known as Garnet, she spent the first 7 years of her life there.

We were at Neady Cats to consider another cat, but... Garnet picked us! We renamed her Phoebe Garnet and it took almost 3 months before she stopped hiding. Coaxing her out with "paging Phoebe, paging Phoebe Garnet!" worked and she continued to come running whenever we called her.

She loved head pats, chin scratches and tummy tickles. Phoebe had amazingly gorgeous emerald eyes that complimented her "tortie" markings. There wasn't a mean bone in her body. She loved her "little brother" Big Papi, another NEADY Cats alum.

We wanted her to live forever, but she was diagnosed with a fast growing abdominal cancer. Robert L. Lynn wrote: "Cancer is so limited. It cannot cripple cannot shut out cannot invade the soul."

We'll see you on the other side of that bridge.
