Hero
Quite simply, Hero was a good cat!
He was rescued from an apartment building in Worcester. A kind-hearted young man from a property maintenance company found several abandoned cats when they went in to do clean-up and repairs. He contacted the shelter, and we went over to the apartment building. One young female was extremely friendly, and easy to rescue; however, the kitty that was to eventually be named Hero was living in a wall behind a bathtub. We could not coax him out. He was too frightened.
Several days later, the young man called to say the kitty finally came out and he had him in a carrier. That day, Hero arrived at NEADY Cats.
He was one to two years old, with numerous scratches on his nose, and missing part of his ear. Oh boy, he had a face you had to love, and a gentle personality to go with it!
Along his journey, Hero had to have his left eye removed. His spirit and good nature never faltered.
Hero was never adopted; a forever home away from the shelter was not in his cards. From 2008 to January 2015, Hero spent his years at the shelter; loved by all, shelter volunteers, and visitors.
Hero had a big heart, and a gentle soul. We miss you Hero!
Farewell, and Godspeed, Hero.
